We’re currently in a … a new century… a new millennium… and a new era in history!
We’re moving from a… modern to post-modern… critical to post-critical… industrial to technological… and a Christian to post Christian society
We are seeing the results of this cultural shift within our own brotherhood of churches.
We see it in the heartbreaking fact that some of our faithful Restoration congregations have closed their doors,
never to reopen them again.
Though a disheartening reality, it underscores the DESPERATE NEED to plant new Churches
that are faithful to the pattern laid out in the New Testament.
Here at M.O.V.E. we’re determined to do just that!

The topic of church planting might be new to you, or you may just have some more questions regarding how it works.
In this FAQ page we try to answer some of the questions that are commonly asked. If you don’t see your question here, or would like further information, feel free to contact us.
What is M.O.V.E.?
M.O.V.E. is a para-church agency in the State of Missouri that is dedicated to bringing a statewide perspective on new church evangelism, to act as a catalyst in the planting of new churches, striving to bring clarity and understanding to the world of new church evangelism, to share it with a passion enabling focus.
What does M.O.V.E. do?
The Mission of MOVE is to encourage, equip, and establish new churches to win the people of the State of Missouri to Christ. It’s our desire to plant churches, that will enable lives to be changed, and communities to be transformed thought the lifesaving messages of Jesus Christ.
Why start new churches?
The statistics are overwhelming. Nearly 7,000 churches close their doors every year. Not a single county in the US has a higher percentage of churched people than it did a decade ago.
Out of 196 nations, only 3 have more un-churched people than the United States, those being China, India, and Indonesia. Though the number of churches in America has increased 50% in the last 100 years, our population has increased 300%.
Aren’t new churches competing with existing churches?
This is a common misconception among Christians, especially ministry leaders. The fact is that in any given community on any weekend if every seat in every church were full, 90+% of population would still have no place to attend.
Where does MOVE get the funding to establish new churches?
Support come from many sources including individual partners, brotherhood churches, and men’s fellowship groups in the State of Missouri. We are true missionaries and we’re supported just like all other missionaries.
Who will M.O.V.E. partner with?
M.O.V.E. currently partners with churches, men’s fellowship groups, Bible colleges, corporations and individuals in order to effectively fulfill our God given mission. If you or your organization is interested in partnering with us please let us know.
Who is the M.O.V.E. Leadership?
M.O.V.E. operates under the leadership of Jerry Kilson (executive director) and Jim Kilson (communications director), who in turn are overseen by a board of directors, who come from both ministry and non-ministry backgrounds.
A list of our current directors is available here.
